Dr. Michael Schirner is a serial entrepreneur and founder of t3consulting.
He obtained his medical doctor degree for pharmacology and toxicology and a doctorate in heart and circulation pharmacology from the Freie Universität Berlin in 1990.
He went on to do his habilitation in the FU Berlin’s department of pharmacology in the area of antimetastatic drugs in 2000. 1990 he started his career in experimental tumor research at Schering AG and was responsible for several drug invention programs until clinical phase 1. He received the FU Berlin’s Research Prize for his research work in 1996 and worked for a year in 1997 as a guest researcher at Harvard Medical School in the research area of tumor angiogenesis.
In 1999 Dr. Schirner became the head of the newly created research function of molecular imaging and was responsible for preclinical and clinical F & E projects in the areas of ultrasonics, x-rays, and optical contrast media.
Since 2007 he has been active as an entrepreneur and founded the companies of mivenion, nanoPET, and IC Discovery, which have been able to establish themselves in the areas of medical technology, biotechnology, and pharmacy and research technologies. For several years he was the head of the mivenion GmbH and IC Discovery GmbH.
Dr. Michael Schirner is the author of more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and book contributions and has registered more than 170 patents. In his almost 25-years of professional career in the pharmaceutical industry and medical technology he has handled and completed more than 50 license contracts worldwide.
